Going to be at HeroesCon in Charlotte this weekend . . .

. . . Booth 520.  I'll be there Friday and Saturday before taking off Sunday morning for Father's Day.  Come out and get a rare autographed copy, chat with the author, and get a chance to ask me your most burning questions about Spellmonger!  If bandwidth permits, I'll try a Facebook livestream from the con.

In other news, Journeymage will be available on Audible.com on July 3rd!  Yay!

In yet other news, writing comes along at a clip -- just not as fast as I would like.  Sky Rider is late (although nearly complete), Trask's Odyssey has made significant progress but is still not ready, and I have a bunch of short stories that I've started and need to finish.  It's been a busy year.  Here is a recent interview I did that explains this in a little more detail:

In yet other, other news, both the Atlas of the Five Duchies and the gaming module project are proceeding apace.  I'm hopeful to have an announcement about both of them by the end of the summer.

Do not despair.  I've been writing like mad, as well as working on the next series of audiobooks.  Once we catch them up with the written series, things will smooth out a bit.

Thanks again for reading, and for all of your support!

Terry

  10. Not to be an overbearing butt, but I need more. Okay. So I came to Spellmonger through Audible. I'm reluctant to jump to the books. It looks like I'll have to.

Anyway, keep up the hard work. Certainly enjoying the series.

  15. Terry: Quick question - Just HOW long exactly have humans been on Callidore? In several places in the 10 book series (so far) I have seen references to thousands of years versus a few hundred. I have also seen similar issues to just how long the Alka Alon have been there.

    1. personaly i thnk its close to a thousand years because i think a few characters more or less stated it outright and i havent seen any references for several thousand that i can think of

    2. If I recall correctly (and I may not), there are several comments regarding this sprinkled through the first 3 or so books...I will have to go back and re-read I guess (shucks!!! )

    3. I find several inconsistencies like that through out the series but I generally chalk it up to general ignorance from the person speaking due to the fact that the "people" that give a consistent answer are those that are either learned or lived through the situation. Or it is the misremembering/ change of details that change with time. A good example is "road to sevendor" where you see both the change through tall tales with the bards but also the slight change in details by the character that was there. Like the details Banamor gave for the "snow that never melted" incident.

    4. At the end of Necromancer the AI named Forseti says he believes that it’s been about 720 years since his systems went dormant. So a thousand year guess from the scholars of the day is probably fairly accurate.

    5. From Magelord:
Despite all we knew about the Tree Folk through literature, most of that knowledge was over a thousand years old, predating humanity’s appearance on Callidore.

  16. PS: above post: referring to Alka Alon, the references were 10+ thousands of years versus several thousand - impression I got was 5 or 6 thousand years - considering how the Alon races have splintered into such distinctive sub groups (I know, magick, right?) I would think the 10+ thousands of years would be more accurate.
