    1. The 5 Dutchies are Alshar, Castal, Remere, Vore, and Merwin. As listed on the map at the beginning of Spellmonger.

  8. We *really* need to get you a wiki page written, and start a spellmonger wikia project. Anyone up for it? :)

I suggest this for two reasons, wikipedia is a great resource to link people to for information on the author, and get him some exposure and show that he's successful enough for a wiki page. (15+ books that are well written and at one point was outselling LOTR?)

And the wikia project, so that we can centralize the information in the novels and errata for fan purposes. I'm reading th rough necromancer currently and because it's been a while since i read enchanter, i'm forgetting who a couple of characters are. It would be enormously helpful to be able to google that character or look it up on a spellmonger wiki and be like "OH YEAH! That's who that is!"

So.. come on fans, lets do this!

  9. I can't wait three months! The first book I had to wait for was Knights Magi and its completely unacceptable. Sure I've considered going on with the books in traditional format or on ebooks ect but John Lee has gotten me this far and going ahead without him breathing life into these characters I love so much just won't work! Lol thanks to the whole team for this fantastic series!
    Sincerely, Josh

  10. So I got bored with another series and decided to take a break, so I started the spellmonger series over from the beginning. I’m on magelord now (one of my favorites) and just watched the duel between Sir Tyndal and Sir Surbaral. I was just wondering what ever happened to Sir Surbaral? Also just a thought, but there may be a short story there. Tyn and Ron fight and/or recruit and/or reform Sir Surbaral? Or maybe he was just lost and died in the snowstorm? Just thought I’d toss that out there Terry. Thanks and love the stories! Keep it up and hope your good, Cheers

    1. Surbaral disappeared instead of returning to West Fleria to inform Sire Gimbal about the result of the duels and the ransoms. Don't think he was ever mentioned, after that.

    3. No he wasn't mentioned again he just disappeared. Would be real interesting if he turned up on the site of Rellin Pratt or something. To be honest I would prefer to see him turn up as an antagonist before we considered any kind of redemption arc.

I also want to meet/find out who the other holders of the Seven's Irionite Stones are. We know about 5 of the holders of the Spellmongers seven but only know about 2 of the Horka's Seven for sure and only know about Carmella from Hesia's Seven. While we can make some astute guesses about who they might be would be good to have a confirmation.

  11. So when I had insomnia I had a strange thought going through my head.. Anyone remember in Magelord, or maybe in High Mage, when someone was telling Minalan rumors based about him.. That people were saying the Spellmonger had drinks with the gods.. and Minalan wondered how rumors like that got started.

I was thinking it would be ironic and amusing if that rumor actually turned out to be true, just that Minalan wasn't aware that it was a god or two he was having a drink with at the time. Still several gods out there he has yet to meet that are mentioned quite frequently: Luin, Huin, and Duin more particularly. And with so much war going on, it seems likely that Duin has manifested more than people realize.

    2. That's for the next full book in the series. Didn't he mention some novellas and such to fill in next year while he builds the arc for the next run of books?

Maybe we will get an update on his anticipated schedule soon.

  19. Dear Mr. Mancour,

What did Tyndal ever do to warrant the treatment he received in Knights Magi?

I understand the desire (need even) to bring Rondal up to speed as a character, but it seems as if his development came constantly at Tyndal's expense.

I expected your basic buddy story about two young Knights who, despite their naturally clashing personalities and differing talents, learn to work together, to compliment one another, and ultimately develop a friendship.

Knights Magi, however, was a decidedly one-sided affair. Rondal isn't merely established as a competent Commander and strategist; he outshines Tyndal at every turn.

As a reader, the sword fight between the two was especially frustrating. And not only because I prefer Tyndal, but because Rondal's victory was contrary to everything you had told me about these characters to that point.

Their eventual friendship just doesn't feel like an alliance between equals.

There's Ser Rondal the Magnificent, Leader of Men, Achiever of All the Things, and his bumbling but attractive sidekick, Ser Tyndal the Mildly Retarded.

Please don't mistake me, I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books, and would recommend them without reservations. I even enjoyed the first part of book four, before the big reveal that Rondal is the love child of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Green Ranger.

Also, I could have managed without the devil's threesome. Just sayin
