The Trashy Summer Beach Reading Season Has Begun! Pick Up A Bad Penny!

The Tawdry Story Of A Time-Traveling Serial Rapist On A Mission To Save Humanity!

WARNING! SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT! ADULTS ONLY!

When they brought in the handsome man in a straitjacket to the Dixmont Psychiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh, 1958, it was obvious that the patient was not only a madman, but a dangerous, if charming, sociopath. As "Tom Doe" reveals his story to the disbelieving psychiatrist he spins a tale out of the wildest pulp fiction: he's from the future, and he's here to impregnate as many women in the past as he can . . . to save humanity's future! He's a Casanova Agent, employed by the future Department of Public Health in the late 21st century, where a deadly genetic virus has rendered the bulk of the population sterile, and he has a mandate to knock up the cream of 1950s femininity to implant the corrective code.

As the tale turns from pure sociopathic sexuality and the worst kind of lurid behavior to a paranoid fantasy involving a beautiful enemy agent and a war between competing timelines, the fantastic story of seduction and passion, pursuit and eroticism is laughably insane . . . until Tom produces a penny from 1964 that seems to support his story. With the future fate of humanity on the line, will this madman find a way to free himself and save the world . . . or is he just a sex-crazed pervert spinning the biggest lie in all of history?

Complete with typo in the series title . . . you know it's good!

Tired of Fifty Tame Shades of Mediocrity? Waiting eagerly for the next Spellmonger book, but wishing there was a lot more explicit sex and vintage Cadillacs involved? Consider the book that will likely ruin my reputation! Blatantly pornographic and bordering on sociopathic, this pulpy, tawdry tale is YOUR chance to indulge in a guilty pleasure that mixes bold-faced erotica with intriguing sci-fi time travel adventure! Read the book that's been rejected because no one knows how to market it! Get the opportunity to throw your Kindle down in disgust at just how far the world has slipped into decay! First in a trilogy, don't forget that Amazon Prime members don't have to waste a DIME of their own on this experimental trashy novel!

And, in case you missed it . . .

    1. Rob, your point is well-taken. In truth, I chose my terms carefully. I used rapist on purpose because (apart from many other themes) the entire issue of consent is a topic in the book. So is an evaluation of male and female sexual psychology and a lot of other things. The horrifying abuse of power, and the cavalier attitude of those who do so, is intrinsic to the plot. Nor is this book the end of the discussion - consent becomes an even more important issue in the next two.

Thanks for catching that, and your concerns are noted. But please understand I am not trying to make light of rape, here. Quite the contrary. One of the tings I examine, in passing, is the changing ideas about consent over time.

Read it, and if you don't like it, let me know. I'll make sure you get your money back.

  2. Just saw this announcement and am not sure about the book. I HAVE REALLY enjoyed the Space Viking and Spellmonger series. I also have read darker books in the past but despite the sample on amazon and the description I still can't grab the tone of the story. With a limited budget I'm waffling on purchasing the book. Sonce there are no reviews yet I'm looking for a little more info if I can.

I can't tell if the book becomes more tongue in cheek or if it is a kind of slow horror/dark take on society. It just doesn't quite let me know if it's my kind of pick. As a reader who has really enjoyed your world building in particular with your other works is this a large departure into a completely different style. Other than sci-fi can you the as the author give it any other thematic description?

  3. What really irritates me about Amazon is that I am following Terry as an author. I've bought a bunch of his books, and have been buying his books for years. And still I haven't received any notification he published a new book several days after the fact, much less had it added to my feed. This helps no one. They really need to get their act together.

Thank you for maintaining this blog Terry, otherwise who knows how long it would take before I figured out you'd published another book.

    1. Sometimes I'm not always aware, myself. Grinding on Hawklady, now. Pretending I don't need reviews for artistic validation. ONWARD!

    2. Keep working on hawklady! Addicted to the spellmonger series. I bought A Bad Penny. Not my thing. So get back to writing and further the story please.

  4. Don't mean to sound ungrateful for your hard work. I am thankful that you get your stories out relatively fast. I'm just hooked. Finished the series for the upteenth time and just impatient for the story to continue.

    1. You're good, Lois. I'm committed to Spellmonger, and have yet to lose any enthusiasm for the series - quite the contrary. But when you write something and have it sitting around not doing anything for a few years, you feel compelled to put it out there. Thanks for reading my stuff - and I'm grateful for your continued patronage.

  5. I have already read Paladin of Shadows series by John Ringo, and liked it, i doubt you can twist my soul any further, if you want to know what i mean by that check this out http://hradzka.livejournal.com/194753.html and the response from the author (wich is fun in itself and positive) http://hradzka.livejournal.com/194753.html?thread=760769#t760769

  6. Thanks for the response Terry. Questions. Will Hawk lady further the story line since it's a YA? If not will Necromancer? And do you have a loose time line for their completion and publication? Life happens and time lines are relative to circumstances interfering.

    1. Too true! Here's my immediate plan: Hawklady will not further the storyline directly. Necromancer will not only further the storyline, but will bring some elements to conclusion, while setting up for the next 10 book series. In addition, I'm working on a few background short stories to flesh out details and explore a few minor characters in preparation for the big release. At this point, Necromancer is plotted for just under 400,000 words. And I'm hoping to have it out in the second half of this year. But, as you said, Life Happens. Barring any unforeseen issues, that is my plan.

    2. Does that mean that Hawklady will be soon?

    1. It's half-way done, and next in the pipe after Hawklady. I'll be finishing it as I get into Necromancer. That's how you stay productive: always have a couple of different projects at various stages of development in the pipeline. (Honestly, I've already got about 30 pages of sketches on Necromancer, so it should come pretty quickly, once I put serious attention to it).

  9. I am looking forward to the next installment of spellmonger given that I'm restricted not reading books with sexual adult content I don't think Bad Penny would be appropriate a read for me. I'm not pious but I am LDS. I do enjoy reading your other books.
