    1. Not as much as I want to finish writing it. Doing more than a chapter a day, now. My wife gets worried when I get into this obsessive mode at the end of the book.

  2. It looks great! But I was expecting snow stone (i.e. white) instead of grey though. I am assuming this is Min's castle.

Now I can't wait to get my hands on the book ... I will be checking the blog like 4 to 5 times a day :).

    1. Yes, that's Min, under the Snowflake. But who is he fighting, I wonder?

  4. I wonder if you will release hard cover version of the books would be interested in aquaring if they come available ?

P.s. Terry more maps for the books

    1. More maps there shall be

My plan, at this point, is to continue with Kindle exclusively through Book 9 (Shadowmage), then take a break, re-edit the entire series for consistency and errors - one or two might have crept through - and then work to publish all of them in paper, whether through Createspace or an independent publisher. I already have one of my agents shopping around Hawkmaiden for the YA market.

And maps there will be. Lots of maps. This one is going to hit you world-building fanatics straight in your pleasure-centers.

    2. Let us know if you are looking for beta readers when you do the edits - especially for continuity errors etc.

But while I am happy you are doing this, I am also saddened that the actual series might be put on back burner :(.

    3. Just a FYI comment, the maps never come out right on the Kindle editions I buy. Have to go to Facebook page to get them.

    1. The missing E is for Enchanter.

    2. Probably should rearrange the lines so that the E of Enchanter is placed into Spellmong_r

  12. Could we please have a rough release time?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I am hoping to have it complete by the 12th, including supporting maps and such. That's not to say that it will be published by then, but likely soon after.
Sorry, this one is a little more complex than the last one. And longer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Don't be sorry. Complex and longer is awesome 😃

    2. I read book 1 again. Notices a few things that I had forgotten. Here is a list.

      1. The 3 gifts of perwin
      2. The demons of legend
      3. The aronin mentions the mentions the halls of dradrien as a place with mighty weapons.

      Additional questions
What is the defender of empires(book?)

      My own comments.
I feel Minilan is mirroring the first Archmages rise to power. I am interested to see if Minilan helps to create a new form of magic, just like the first mage founded imperial magic

      Those legendary demons sound badass.

    3. 1. The Three Gifts will be discussed in reference but not thoroughly explored.
      2. The demons of legend do start making an appearance, though they are still mostly off-stage. In fact, a lot happens off-stage to Min this time. House arrest is a bitch.
      3. The Halls of Dradrien do exist, but they are a closely guarded secret by a particular family of Alka Alon. Hence the knowledge of that location, held only by that family, becomes extremely important. But I don't talk about that hardly at all in this book.

      Good eye.

  18. Really looking forward to the next book. Do we get to find out what happens to the Lords that Min had arrested or required them to turn themselves in for Justice? I 'really' want to find out what happens to Sire Hafos. Just re-read chapter 19 of Journeymage and would like to see some Justice meted out.

  19. FYI in Magelord (kindle) at location 14371/18099 the part about the tribute from Yeoman Vano seems to be missing part of the text. Keep up the good work Terry! :D

  21. As much as I love this series, and as much as I am literally checking this blog practically on the hour for the release of enchanter, I have to admit.....
The covers for this series have never been very good.
This one is the best one yet out of what I've seen, because there is something interesting going on in it, but that doesn't quite save it from the fact that it, like the other spellmonger covers, is a not really all that detailed picture of a castle. Thats not really an interesting image.

If it were me, and I was going to stick to covers depicting an object rather than a scene, for this series I think I'd go with each cover depicting the Minalan's new staff/sword/enchanted thing
    ex:

Spellmonger: the basic staff he had at the beginning of the series, and the piece of irionite floating above it.

Warmage: High mage warstaff/ or possibly the sword Cormaran gives Min at timberwatch, Twilight (can't remember the perwinese name)

Magelord: not sure. Maybe that staff of office that Penny makes for min out of the hideous lamp

    High Mage: Blizzard

Journeymage: The staff he enchanted for the kasari trek. Traveler, I think he named it. (sorry if I got the name wrong)

    thats my 2 cents.

And regardless of my bitching about the cover, the books themselves remain superb, and I can barely contain my anticipation for the coming release of the next installment

  22. I am curious if Min will help the Stone Folk find Askoerast, with them driving so far into the mountain I figure it's a only a matter of time. I was also wondered ifwe will see the arrival of Iron Folk. Can wait fir the new book!
