For One Brief Shining Moment, I Outsold The Lord Of The Rings

Okay, I know it's just an ephemeral quirk of the electronic marketplace, but I found this over in the Kindle Epic Fantasy list, and had a critical nerd attack . . . you have no idea what kind of professional ego blast it is to see this:

I mean . . . total geekgasm.  It's silly, I know, it's just a list, but as a writer how can you not enjoy it at some visceral level?

Unfortunately, it's making me want to go ahead and knock out Magelord, when I have Secret Project #1 and Trask's Odyssey to complete before I hit the next Spellmonger novel.  But dang, if it keeps selling this well, I might have to move things around.

More narcissistic, self-gratifying ego-stroking as events warrant.  That is all.

  1. Congrats on the ranking. It's deserved, in my opinion. I just picked up Warmage, looks to be a good read. I'm a bit confused on why Min is cheating on Ayla with Isily though. (And I'm not calling spoiler, because it happens in the first chapter.) End of the last book, he was all excited and happy with her. Guess maybe he got tired of being with just one woman? If that's the case, I have to say...lost some respect for him there.

    1. Minalan has plenty of moral failings, and don't forget that sexuality in a medieval society differs greatly than that of an industrial or post-industrial society. But she was hot, he was at war, things happen . . .

  2. Hi,

Great book! I enjoyed it a lot, and am glad others are doing so too. There were, however, some pretty serious proofing/editing issues. Is there an email that Terry can be reached at? If you prefer to contact me, I use aguy.reviews at gmail.com

    1. Anyone who would like to tell me about a proofing issue is free to email me at tmancour at gmail dot com. The wonderful thing about Kindle books is that you can continuously release improved versions. So feel free to alert me to stuff and I'll fix it in the next iteration.

Thanks again for reading my books! I'm seriously considering skipping the other things on my schedule and starting Magelord immediately, response has been so good.

  3. Yes, please go straight to Magelord. I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

And congrat's on knocking out LOTR. I can imagine how it feels to see that - these moments don't come around too often so soak it in. I'd probably print it out and stick it on the wall!
