Big News for Hawkmaiden audiobooks! Probable (possible?) Release Date for Thaumaturge!
I can finally announce the casting for the narrator of the Hawkmaiden trilogy: Finty Williams!
Daughter of Dame Judi Dench, Finty Williams has an amazing timbre to her voice that I thought captured the essence of the series brilliantly! She's just wrapped production of Hawkmaiden, and release dates will be forthcoming. I am incredibly pleased with this. As phenomenal as John Lee is with Spellmonger, I thought the young female protagonist worked better with a female voice.
Also, I wanted to finally announce a release date for Thaumaturge: May 1st. That's actually a month behind where I wanted it to be, but STILL sooner than you'll read Winds of Winter. I'll let you know when the preorders are up. That's assuming that nothing goes horribly wrong in the meantime. I'm down to the last 5 chapters of the thing, so hopefully I'll have the rough complete by this weekend. And then the re-write . . .
Fantastic news for the Hawkmaiden trilogy I look forward to it. For the book Thaumaturge did you end up splitting the book or did you keep it all in one book? Just curious as I love the whole series, you're an amazing writer Mr Mancour!
ReplyDeleteTick tock... Any fun suggestions or hints to look at while rereading the series in anticipation for book 11? Drinking game, subtle group to look around for, a hidden character, odd magical quality... just looking for a more entertaining read as I feel I've pulled out the most I can from the background.
ReplyDeletePersonally if someone could figure out the rules of Rushes I’d be chuffed, seems like a pretty cool game
DeleteWoot woot
ReplyDeleteJust write the White Walkers destroyed the wall and poured South killing all before them. The End.

Thank you for the update. I'll have that book bought as soon as preorder is up.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait for Thaumaturge, will be watching for that preorder to open up.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to listening to her!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that after reading the Spellmonger series end to end a number of times, I've started listening to John Lee on the Audible versions. He is absolutely fantastic. Love listening to him. His voices are amazing. Am sure that Flinty Williams will be excellent too!
Can't wait for Thaumaturge too!
I read this post after going through something traumatic and it was greatly comforting. Min and his world are just amazing and knowing I'll be able to see more of his story is wonderful.
ReplyDeletePlease hurry I am having withdrawals and need this book a.s.a.p I love your writing
ReplyDeleteIs it done? :P
ReplyDeleteAwesome thanks for providing the date. Cannot wait for May.
ReplyDeleteGoing by Necromancer as a guide, it will be worth the wate.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend the fantasy MMORPG FFXIV, it has a fantastic story, and there are a lot of similarities in how the gods in spellmonger series and the primals in FFXIV works.
ReplyDeleteIs there any word on shadowmage and necromancer audiobooks?
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason Necromancer isn't available on Audible? I am feverishly reading, but drive frequently. List
Deleteening has become an addiction.
On the topic of audiobooks any chance you can release them Closer to the book release? I usually do text to speech for the books but a true audiobook is much better.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is May 2nd - just so you know....
ReplyDeleteA couple of questions: Is there a sequel to The Bad Penny and is there a novella of Ron and Tyndell's quest to retrieve the idol? Keep up the great work and thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteWe're half way through April...still on track for May release of the next book?

ReplyDeleteI am starting to lose hope in the "May 1" release...
ReplyDeleteMe too..less than a week away and no news :(
ReplyDeleteThere is news on the Discord channel. He missed the preorder deadline due to formatting issues, but everything is ready and on-track for midnight May 1. Not sure if he means 00:00:00 or 23:59:59 though so let's say May 1 +/- 24 hours.
Deletewhy not just put it up then?
DeleteThe larger the first single day sales the more likely the book stays in the amazon rankings at a high standing. It is free publicity and setting a firm date regardless of pre-order helps that dynamic. It means TM could get more readers sales and more likely to push his story and series into the public.
DeleteWhich time zone are you referring to?

Having a hard time waiting...
Try waiting over seven years for Terry to release the next book in the Space Viking/Tanith series. You'd think he was making a GOT book

ReplyDeleteITS OUT
Hey Terry, I'm listening to this now, and she is doing an incredible job! It's really great! I'm looking forward to more books read by her. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteHello Terry! I'm a new fan but have listened to every Spellmonger audiobook available. I can't find any information on audiobook releases for Necromancer and would buy it instantly if I could; John Lee does an amazing job! Is there any information available?
ReplyDeleteThis! Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
DeleteYes, same here, am eagerly awaiting the rest of the Spellmonger series in audio format from John Lee!
DeleteWhen will Necromancer be an Audiobook?
DeleteLove your work. As a constructive criticism you've heard before, you place too much emphasis on how a woman's fickleness is related to period, mood, or secondary gain when there is an authentic and real basis (even in a conjured world of sex roles). As a male, heterosexual psychologist, I love your work, it is fun and playful, and thoughtful. Almost reminiscient of final fantasy and what I see in many who enjoy frequent Renfests. While I hate SJW cartoons of women, your perspective doesn't comprehend the women perspective, it is a caricature. I don't doubt it sells, to me and other folk who are buy into it for one reason or another. Still, I'd suggest some women's studies courses to expand your worldview to create a more authentic woman's outlook. And ahh, I know it's hard to hear and easy to throw into the SWJ trash bin, so I hope you can hear it, and consider it with one cent more than two cents. Thank you for the world you create, and I challenge you to further develop it.
ReplyDeletewhooooohooo!! Just wanted to thank you for this lovely series. I am mostly bed bound and holding books and reading them has become "challenging", so for me to be able to listen to them...I LOVE it! I have been lost in your world for many many happy hours; I'm so glad I found your writings! <3
ReplyDeleteMs CJ, from Cambridge, Canada
Dude! Just got done listening to necromancer. Can't wait for Thamaturge. Really enjoy your writing style. It's more real than most other books I've read and listened to over these decades. I've laughed cried got irritated with the characters that have come and gone. I drive otr and listen to audible through my phone. Thank you for keeping the story going..... I really really enjoy this series. Ohhhh and you can file 13 that critic about SJW nonsense and his advice fit you to take classes on gender studies. Women are mysterious and hard to understand. Let it be. There's enough sjw foolery out in the real world that I don't look for in books that I read to escape into for a brief respite grin the world. Prince tabard is a big crybaby. .(lol)
